Multimedia creation to enhance learning
Students use this introduction video to learn how TTL works. The video shows the different parts of TTL and how they work. Students see how to navagate and complete sections of TTL.
A video series to teach students the basics of AppleWorks word processing, Draw, & Paint. The videos provide mouse-click specific instructions and practice assignments for reinforcement. Students learn everything from short cuts to formatting techiques. The lessons are completed with a culminating newsletter activity.
An introduction video to show students several aspects of ComicLife. The examples in the videos are basic and allows students the opportunity to begin a ComicLife document. The video is also a good resource for students to return to for reinforcement.
Lesson Idea: Have student pick one object out of their backpack and create a comic about it. The object could be as simple as a paperclip. Instruct students to have a few minimum requirements (setting titles, word balloons, comic title, background effects, etc.) Reinforce the importance of capturing an image to show emotions (fear, shock, funny etc.) Students may use iPhoto, Photobooth, and iSight pictures. A series dedicated to the 6th graders of our school. Pages is a step up from the normal word processors students have used in the past. It is set up with an Inspector, similar to other applications created by Apple. Students take an indepth look at advanced word processing and design techniues using the all-in-one application. This project is also completed with a culimating newsletter activity.
Lesson idea: Math. Have students use Pages to create patterns using the shapes menu. See example.
